Olimbi Hoxhaj - Mother Courage (in production)
Info
Olimbi Hoxhaj - Mother Courage is a feature-length documentary film directed by Karlo Mlinar and produced by More-Magnets. The film tells the extraordinary true story of Olimbi Hoxhaj, an Albanian woman whose life took a dramatic turn when she discovered that she and her children were HIV-positive—at a time when treatment in Albania was almost nonexistent.
What began as a personal tragedy transformed into a powerful journey of activism, resilience, and love. Refusing to be silenced or defined by stigma, Olimbi became one of the first public voices in Albania to speak openly about living with HIV. Her bravery changed her own life and also helped shift public perception, inspiring countless others and driving social change in a country where silence often surrounds such issues.
